How do you contribute to a vision you care about? What
are your talents and skills? You can make a difference by bringing your energy and creativity to the creation of the InterSpiritual Centre. Here are some of the ways you can help in building this shared sacred space:
Membership / Outreach
If you are active in a religious or spiritual community, if you like sharing your vision, if you want to reach out and connect with others, you can make a great contribution in this way. Together with Rabbi David Mivasair, the Membership/Outreach team reaches out to religious and spiritual communities to support and join the ISC. As a member of this team you will identify key communities, initiate contacts, make presentations and build relationships.
Building / Technical
If you are interested in development, are good with details, negotiation, communication and planning, or simply have an interest in this area, you can join the Rev. Louise Mangan to guide our entire process with the City of Vancouver regarding site selection, zoning, specific building parameters, developers, contractors and all the critical external aspects of actually building the InterSpiritual Centre. If you have some experience with design, architecture or a related field, or if you're simply attracted to this aspect of our project, you can help. Along with Rev. Louise Mangan, the architecture committee and, at this time, award-winning architect Mark Ostry, you can be part of shaping the InterSpiritual Centre building itself.
Fund Raising
As a member of the fund raising team you will work with a professional fund raisers to approach potential major donors locally and internationally. Or, together with others, you could create our own successful fundraising events. Or research and secure funding from foundations or government agencies and programs.
Communication
You can help perfect and maintain this website, produce and distribute our monthly e-newsletter, develop stories for the media, produce print and electronic materials and presentations. Develop ways to communicate the vision of creating shared sacred space and energizing people to join us.
Programming
Contribute your energy and talents to create programs to bring us together in sharing our spiritual and religious lives. Develop your own ideas or help organize programs in progress.
Administration
If you are experienced with administration, good with computers and info management, or just want to help us communicate with each other, work well together, track our progress and keep us all moving forward, this is the team for you. Join our board chair Rev. Louise Mangan and our secretary-treasurer Hari Kirin Kaur in guiding our own internal organizational and administrative structures.
