PAST EVENTS June 24th, 2007 - Annual General Meeting of the InterSpiritual Centre of Vancouver April 16, 2007 – Spiritual Directors International Conference: Welcome Home to the Cosmos -- Interspiritual Exposure Tour. At the request of conference organizors , Hari Kirin Kaur (Kim Wright) and Rukmini Prameya acted as tour guides for spiritual leaders from around North America who were visiting various spiritual centers in Vancouver. Hari Kirin spoke about the ISC's vision for an InterSpiritual Centre in Vancouver. March 23, 2007 – The British Consulate asked the ISC of Vancouver Society to bring local spiritual leaders to a Roundtable Discussion with Muslim leaders from Britain. The purpose was to explore how Canadian Muslims practice their faith in a multicultural society, compared to how British Muslims practice in a period of crisis within Islamic culture. November 4, 2006 – “Body and Soul After Death”, ISC of Vancouver Society in partnership with Science World; spiritual leaders and teachers from six different tradtiions shared and discussed their own path's views of the human body and soul after death. A DVD record of the presentation is available, and has been used in multifaith pastoral training by the Department of Spiritual Care of BC Women's and Children's Hospital. June 21st, 2006 – UN Habitat “World Urban Forum Roundtable”. The ISC of Vancouver Society sponsored the roundtable discussion: "Bridging the Gap: Spirituality and Sustainability in the Urban Context". Thirty international experts on urban affairs spoke to an audience of nearly 200. June 15, 2006 – Faith in the City: The United Church of Canada General Council Offices and the InterSpiritual Centre of Vancouver Society: Interspiritual Centre Exposure Workshop. Vancouver event catalysed formation of an InterSpiritual Centre initiative for the Toronto Waterfront. May 11th and 12th, 2006 – Star Gazing, Soul Searching: An InterSpiritual Experience. H.R. MacMillan Space Centre in partnership with the ISC of Vancouver Society, asking the question: how have the stars, the planets and the sky (science) inspired and informed the various faiths and spiritual traditions? Teachers from six different local Vancouver area faith communities spoke on two different nights. April 23, 2006 – Interspiritual “Blessing of the Salmon”, brought together people of many faiths and spiritual paths. February 25, 2006 – Chant Fest – The ISC of Vancouver Society sponsored a 12-hour-day event that brought together approximately 600 participants from Muslim, Sikh, Sufi, Jewish, Christian, First Nations, Baha'i, Hindu and Buddhist traditions. February 9th 2006 – Sharing Sacred Spaces – SFU Wosk Centre for Dialogue. The ISC of Vancouver Society co-sponsored with the Simon Fraser University Dialogue Program a dialogue among 100 practitioners, educators, urban and community planners, examining what it means to create shared sacred space.
